The New Opel Frontera: A Modern SUV Between Hybrid and Electric Future
Opel has revived the Frontera name in a new, contemporary form—as a compact crossover SUV that combines practicality, modern technology, and flexibility for everyday driving. It is available with efficient 48V petrol-hybrid technology or as a fully electric version, giving drivers the freedom to choose according to their needs and lifestyle.
The Opel Frontera in hybrid configuration uses an advanced 48-volt system with a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine, specifically developed for this configuration. This powertrain provides a balance between efficiency and power, and is available in two versions—with 74 kW (100 HP) or 100 kW (136 HP), depending on the driver’s needs.
This hybrid system enables reduced fuel consumption and emissions compared to conventional engines, while simultaneously ensuring dynamic and comfortable driving in everyday use.
For those who wish to drive entirely without local emissions, Opel offers the Frontera Electric. This electric SUV is powered by an 83 kW (113 HP) electric motor and uses a 44 kWh lithium-ion battery, which enables up to 305 km of range according to the WLTP standard—sufficient for daily routes and most daily needs.
In addition, there is also a version with an increased 54 kWh battery and extended range, which can cover up to approximately 400 km locally without emissions—ideal for longer journeys or drivers who want maximum flexibility without compromise.
